Surprise! The Leafs lose…again.

The starting goaltenders for tonight’s game were both unable to finish the game for different reasons. Toronto Maple Leafs’ Jonathan Bernier was pulled after letting in his third goal of the night 57 seconds into the second period. Philadelphia Flyers’ Steve Mason left the game in the third period after an apparent injury on his third goal allowed. In the end it was Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth who grabbed the win at the ACC tonight.

It was a positive start to the game for the Toronto Maple Leafs, it was even looking like the Leafs could pull out a win. By the second period the leafs were down 3-1 and made a come back in the third period, leading 4-3. It was a late period goal by Flyers Matt Read that sent the game into extra time where Flyers rookie Shayne Gotisbehere scored his 4th OT goal of the season.

Bernier left the game with 3 GA, 12 SA, 10 SV and a .769SV%. As for Reimer, he finished the game with 2 GA, 15 SA, 13 SV and a .867 SV%.

The Leafs have now lost 3 in a row and 6 of their past 7 games. With the one point from tonights game, as of right now, the Leafs are tied for last in the league with the Edmonton Oilers, unless the Oilers gain at least one point in tonights matchup against the Colorado Avalanche.

Toronto’s next game this Tuesday when the Nashville Predators come to town.
